The ISMR is pleased to announce and welcome you to University of Iceland, Reykjavik from Sunday July 12th, 2009 through Thursday July 16th, 2009 for its 18th biennial meeting, Affinity 2009. In the tradition of Affinity meetings past, the program will include an inaugural lecture/reception, several prominent keynote speakers, contributed oral and poster presentations, exhibits, the Pierce Award in Affinity Technology, the Roche Younger Investigators Award and a conference dinner on Viðey island .
VENUE
The Affinity 2009 meeting will be held at the University of Iceland in a new building Háskólatorg (University Forum) opened on December 1st 2007. The building has five lecture theaters seating up to 180 as well as areas for posters and commercial exhibits.
The building also has a cafeteria, a University Bookshop and various student services.
Conference participants will have access to wireless internet connection.
The University is close to the city center. The walk to the oldest part of the city with various bars and restaurants takes about 10 minutes

TOPICS
The organizers of Affinity 2009 invites papers on the following topics:
1. Fundamental nature of biological interactions
Molecular Interactions including macromolecules on surfaces
2. Mapping and screening the interactome
Methodologies for screening and mapping interactome pathways in cells.
3. Complexes, networks and molecular switches in biology and drug discovery
In-situ studies of proteins and their interactions. Proteome and interactome maps in drug discovery
4. In vitro design and selection of affinity probes in life sciences
Affinity probe design, solid and liquid phase affinity techniques and novel chromatographic approaches, molecular imprinting and mimetics. Cell analysis and purification
5. Affinity in nanobiotechnology and molecular devices
Devices based on molecular recognition, including nanofabricated platforms and detection systems. Microrray chemistries (surfaces and linkers on devices) and technologies based on arrays.
6. Affinity for therapy and structure-based drug discovery
7. Affinity proteomics and interactomics
8. Other topics relevant to the main theme
ACCOMMODATIONS

Transfer from the airport
The Keflavik International Airport is located some 55 km from Reykjavik. The drive from the Leifur Eiriksson Air Terminal to Reykjavik takes about 45 minutes.
The Fly Bus operates shuttle services to and from the airport in connection with arrivals and departures. Taxi services are also available. Rental cars can be hired at the airport.
Local transportation
The accommodation specially booked for the conference is all on the University campus within a 5 minute walk from the conference venue.
Other hotels in the city center are also within walking distance.
Information on city buses can be obtained at Strætó.
The Reykjavik Tourist Card is also a valid bus ticket and may be purchased at the Tourist Information.
